EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S LETTER
FROM YOUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
BENCHMARK
The past six months has been filled with unexpected yet delightful changes. We have hired two new staff
members. Donna Allen is our Membership and Finance Coordinator. TSPS contracted Donna originally as
our Bookkeeper in February of 2024. Donna has worked extensively organizing our financials and keeping
TSPS regulated. I could not pass up the opportunity to make Donna a full time employee as she is truly a
delight to collaborate with and her integrity shines through her work. Donna is a very warm personality so
please say hi to her if you are able to meet her! She will be at all upcoming TSPS events as a staff member.
Secondly, we added the Education & Events position back. Over the past year I’ve noticed that TSPS
simply cannot operate as a two team staff. We listened to the concerns of the members about delays and
inconsistency in our operations. Therefore, Breydon Barrett is our new Education and Events Coordinator.
Breydon is from Indianapolis and took a chance on trusting that TSPS was worth his new journey in Austin,
Texas. If you meet Breydon you will quickly notice that he is a professional by nature. His impact in the
office was felt within one week of being there as he picks up skills swiftly and has already brought new and
fresh ideas to TSPS. Breydon has already revamped the marketing of our emails, social media, and
magazine. Please say hi to Breydon at our upcoming events as well.
During my parental leave, these two worked diligently with the board to ensure seamless day to day
operations while prepping for our upcoming convention. It feels like they have worked for TSPS for a
decade. I hope that you all feel their dedication to the association as they both truly are exceptional.
BACK TO THE FUTURE
We have already launched Convention registration and Exhibitor/ Sponsors
registration. This convention will be the best one yet! We will have a concurrent
schedule with many sessions for attendees to choose from.
Last year, we navigated a lot of feedback regarding the Exhibit hall which made it
one of my primary focuses for this Convention. Friday will be kicked off with an
Opening Ceremony and Networking Breakfast featured in the Exhibit Hall at 7am.
This means the Exhibit Hall will have its on screen and stage to also feature our
newly added Tech Expo Sessions. The Tech Expo Sessions that are set up to
resemble TED talks. These are sponsored 30 minute time slots where a company
can introduce and explain their product to attendees as well as answer any
questions. 2 sessions will be featured during lunchtime on Friday at 12pm and then
2 more sessions at 4pm Friday with the exhibit hall closing at 5pm. These sessions
are aligned with the educational main stage agenda and are designed to increase
interaction between vendors and attendees. Attendees that attend the tech expo
sessions will receive 1 pdh for that hour.
