How/Why did you get into
surveying?
I started as a receptionist for
a small firm. I found the work
interesting and was quickly
taught how to do research at
the courthouse (nothing was
online in those days) and how
to conduct preliminary checks
for informational purposes on
surveys. I eventually found
myself volunteering to work in
the field on weekends and any
time I could. After about six
months of volunteering, my
boss and mentor enrolled me
in the surveying program at
San Antonio College and put
me in the field full-time for
several years. He was the best
mentor I could have asked for.
Why did you join TSPS?
Dan Snell, my mentor, said he needed someone to get involved. He was too busy with the business
